![]() Price for DA*200 f2.8 is $2,199. Was told by sales that there are only 5 in Singapore and 3 In Malaysia. Cannot buy the K20D body alone. It comes with the 18-55 ver 1.

Holy molly! Coming from a retail outlet, $899 for the K100D super is really good, especially for those who do not want to pay for the K200D!

Oh also at the Sigma booth, they don't have the display unit or price for the 100-300 f4.0! Sales told me that they ever brought in before but don't know why it is not in the line-up anymore.

The kind of promotion package they have at these IT show ..is poor, really cannot compete with Nikon, Oylumpus.& Canon, just by looking at it... They think that SLR users, knows nothing ...and it's so inflexible ...body cannot be bought alone.. I don't think they can get more sales ...they only know about new user ...what a short sight ....one reasosn pentax never made it to the mark in term of marketing....
Even, if I want a K20D badly .. I don't but now ...the DA*200MM 2.8 , they will definitely be ways to get them...even they have 5 pieces only... |

On the plus side, I tried the K20D with DA*200.
The speed and quietness of focusing was amazing. Also let my colleague using Sony Alpha to try, he was speechless. On the down side, asked the salesman about 18-55 II, he said there's no such thing. :-S |

Just came back from IT Show, had a quick go with the K20D and DA*200, really blows your mind away!
I think the interface of the K20D is definitely better than K100D (never played enough with K10D to form an impression of it though...), and also the first time I played with a lens with SDM, so smooth and silent! Sorry I know I'm being a bit mountain turtle here.... Anyway, will resist temptation, use the money for lenses first.... ride this wave, and wait for K30D instead. But yah, it's sad Pentax is tucked all the way at the back like that.... |

Off topic a little. I really pity Sony DSLR users. Bodies are affordable but the lenses....
![]() 100mm 2.8 Macro $1299 35MM 1.4 $2599 70-200 2.8 $3699 300 2.8 $11999 ![]() With that kind of prices, it is a instant cure for LBA!

Heard many complained about the price there (including myself). With that kind of price, I rather buy a D300 @ $2999.

When Shirio took over Pentax brand, I remembered big booth with models and catwalk. After that every thing just gone quite. I almost could not find the Pentax booth.
Canon, Nikon. Oly, Sony, Samsung, Sigma were at 4th storey. Pentax was hidden at the back at 6th storey. ![]()

" ![]() Anyway, where prices are concerned, I actually asked for the price of the DA*16-50, and he quoted me $1700+ . When I went waaaahhh... (since I do know that you can get it for much cheaper from websites like Adorama. Haven't tried asking local sources yet.) he admitted that prices outside are better. Not sure if that'll be the case for the K20D body and the DA*200 as well?Last edited by Gengh; 6th March 2008 at 06:03 PM. |
