Hey Jensen,

Have tested all the teleconvertors, including Century Optics 1.6x. There's vignetting up to about 50% zoom for 1.6x to about 75% for 2.0x before vignet is gone. So unless you really need the distance, it's reaaly not worth the money. It really limits you zoom range and also doubles your aperture / iris.

hi tommon,
thx for the info.. i have been doing quite alot of live feed event. at times i could not position my cam front engh to capture a tighter shot with my pana 102 or sony z1.. due to space constraint.. tot a tele will bring me closer.. probably getting another cam w further zoom is a better option..

Yep, those century optics are not cheap $1.8k at least.

Maybe try the JVC 111 or 110 with 17x zoom. Someone was trying to sell a NTSC ver

yeah, i contacted him sometimes ago.. but too bad, it is a NTSC set..

I have read some report on the tele converter from Century Optics on Pana DVX with no aperture lost.. i am not very convinced with the report as logically with another layer of glass added shd have cut some lights, and normaly need to compensate with 1 to 2 stop..

It says almost no noticable light lost, probably the CCD compensated slightly. Nothing like the real thing. Maybe invest in a crane instead. haha
