    Default Banks transcation?

    Hi!

Anyone knows or have done it before? Can the banks retrive our transcation 5 years ago or over the past 5 yrs?

    Thanks!

i think you should have kept your own records but your bank assuming it backs it its transactional data should have what you need. ask your bank rep to be sure.

it can be retrieved but you need to wait and it won't be free.

AFAIK, Banks won't keep transactions in history for more than 6 months (max I would imagine is 12 months).
However, by law they are required to keep an archive of the account statements for several years (not really sure of this period, but its somewhere between 7 to 10 years).
Most banks will charge you a fee if you ask for a copy of your past statement. It might be usually free for the past 1-6 months, but anything beyond that is operationally expensive for the banks to retrieve from their archives and hence they would charge you a hefty fee.

Its best you check with your bank lah.

call your bank and find out la. one phone call is very easy to make instead of asking here and waiting for someone to answer you could have called and found out already.
