Chengdu

I am going to Chengdu, China, anyone know whether alpha lens is cheap there and where in Chengdu to get. I know it is much cheaper in Shanghai relative to Singpapore. Any info will be most appreciated.

should be cheaper to buy lens in china since there are the sole manufacturer of sony lens except the G Lens and Carl Zesis lens which most of them are produced in Japan or Germany for Carl Zesis.

Don't know much information about buying electronic products in China/Chengdu, but since you'll be in Chengdu, be sure to go for a massage at Fu Qiao (富桥)
It's pretty famous and well reputed over there, just ask around and you'll find it.

I stopped over briefly in the airport... pretty polluted city... watch out for your sensor if u're bringing your camera over...

tks everyone for all info, i have been to chengdu before but that's before i was interested in buying lens. actually if i cannot get a 16-80 here for a reasonable price ($1000) i will try to look for it there. the lens price here is mad.

Yes... the prices here are pretty crazy... let us know if you could get your hands on any good deals!
