Hiee Pals,
Just to share a little "dirty" non scientific tests I did here to test out the DRO at High SIO and the detail that could be captured by the A700 in a nightscene - non ideal setup (no tripod). This shot was taken in Kobe Japan. It was taken in the Chinatown Kobe - Nankinmachi. Anyway, I was just passing by the place and thought of putting the A700 to a dirty test. - Noise Reduction Off - ISO 1000 - Handheld - DRO (-) So here is the photo of the actual print on 5ft x 3.5ft. Seeing the Print is believing, the colors are just great inspite of the chroma noise in the darkened region. Graininess is inherent to this shot at high ISO. ![]() Thanks to my friend (Hafxxx) for helping me with this print. At this print size, i took photo of some regions to show the level of details that were captured in the darkened regions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ability to capture details of areas in the darkened regions proves that a tool like this is great for investigators - spying on people hiding the dark. Well, as i said again this is a quick non scientific dirty test just to show the amount of detials still achievable at low light - with handheld shot. Setup info: - Camera - A700 @ JPEG fine Large - Sigma 10-20mm @ 20mm - This lens is really greta even at the corners. If the opportunity permits, I can show you the sharpness you get out of this APS-C lens.

sorry, not sony here but i don't really get what is going on, have a few questions
1) is the shot taken with a700? i assume the shot is yours, right? 2) the subsequent pictures after the first are taken with the a700? ![]() |

thanks sulhan, you just brought the point that pixel-peeping is not everything, what matters is when it comes to prints the cam is still mighty impressive

Paper plays a part also.... not just a camera.... but of course the ratio will be camera 60% : paper and ink 25% : Human knowledge of converting the file 10% : Software 5%

That's nice bro Sulhan.
![]() I've shot some at iso 6400... the results are decent, and there's a lot of detail that's preserved. ![]()
