A700 on sale in Tokyo
Hi folks,
I was in Tokyo browsing the Yodobashi camera shop. Just discovered that the A700 (body only) is on sale for 140080 Yen. I believe I am eligible for another 5% tax rebate, so that net cost would be 133070 Yen. That would be around 1791 SGD. The body has marking of "Made in Japan". May I know how this price compares to the current Singapore price? There is one issue with buying this camera in Tokyo as the camera is only available in Japanese interface. The salesperson commented that this is for Japanese market only. The price would be different for oveseas model available in English/Chinsese interface. Has any one buy Sony camera and successfully convert the user interface to English? BTW, Also so the Zeiss 16-80 zoom for 93800 Yen. After 5% tax rebate, it would be 89110 Yen, or 1200 SGD. Those prices are close to SG prices. Not worth it. Much better to just tag along for the people buying from HK.

Wow, it is so much cheaper in Hong Kong...
Does anyone know if the Hong Kong set is also made in Japan? I thought I read from this forum that all sony dslr body are made in Malaysia. I was pleasantly surprise to see a Made in Japan body on sale in Tokyo... regards, ernest |
