A couple of noob question for all the sifus here.
1. Supposingly we want to take advantage of shooting at 11FPS(DX)/9FPS(FX), which is the recommended/type of CF card which can do the job? Asking as I might want to buy the CF card at next weekend IT Show in case I decided to get the D3 in the future. 2. Do we still get 11FPS(DX)/9FPS(FX) while shotting at 14-Bit? Many thanks. |

Its on the D3 broucher. I got it from NSC last week. 11FPS can only be acheived in DX mode only and when shutter speed is set to at least 1/250s or faster plus some other settings as well.

Shooting modes: • Single frame • Continuous Low [CL]: 1 - 9 fps • Continuous High [CH]: 9 fps (9 - 11 fps with DX format) • Liveview [LV] • Self-Timer (programmable) • Mirror-up mode |

Anyone knows if we still get 11FPS(DX)/9FPS(FX) while shotting at 14-Bit. Or even 11FPS(DX)/9FPS(FX) while shooting 12-Bit but in RAW mode? |

you can get 9fps in 14bit raw mode for FX, did not try DX.

FYI, there is a 16GB 233x CF card that cost less than $150.
If you want to shoot that fast, you better have the space to hold all of your images at at least 20plus MB uncompressed RAW. |

its ard 18+ if you shoot in 12bit. at least according to the photos i have. a Extreme3 4GB card i used, gave me ard 200-210 photos. 16GB is a bit of an overkill if you ask me |

16GB ain't that much if you shoot sports using 9/11 FPS... filling up the whole card is just like holding down your finger for just 100s(of cos with break/rest inbetween...

d3 should not have problem with this cos its still within its buffer limits of 16-18 shots. you will notice the difference once the buffer flushes to the cf card. i did some tests on my extreme III 4gb and extreme IV 8gb. the extreme III 4gb took about 20 secs to flush the buffers while the extreme IV 8gb took about 10 secs.

personally, take no offence, if one would really press and hold and hope for the best, then it be better not to shoot at all. |
