Default Preventing risk of moulding during 3 mths travel

    Hi Guys,

I am going on a 3 month long business trip to Sydney and want to bring my camera along.

But I am just afraid to "leave it in the open" for so long, as I cannot lug a dry box or tupperware with me.

Any suggestions what I can do to minimize the risk of moulding?
Put in a zip lock bag with silicon gel?

    Thanks.

45%-55% Photography equipments (lens, cameras, films etc), binoculars, CDs, albums, antiques, video-tapes.

55%-60% Paper documents, paintings, stamp collections.

Keep in mind, these are optimum RH level for different equipments. For example, photography lens and camera bodies should not be stored in RH lower than 45% because of the danger of drying out lubricants, leatherette, rubberized curtain shutters, gaskets etc. Stamps, musuem paintings etc should not be stored under RH < 55% because ink pigments will change color more readily in low RH.
won't worry about it too much if i were you, especially if you have air-conditioned lodgings

Don't worry too much.. I don't think Sydney is as humid as SG is.

So long as you actually take your camera out into the sun and shoot, you don't need to worry. Sunlight kills mold...

I know people who have no drycabinet or anything like that, but their lenses are fungus-free becasue they're always outside taking shots.

Also don't forget that overseas temperature countries are much less humid. When stationed overseas my cameras were fine, my hands were not - it was so dry I suffered from cracked skin, something I've never had a problem with. Damn painful

So I guess most of the time the air conditioning would be in the heating mode.. That's going to be quite dry.
