Hi all,
What is kind of price of is typical of 1 roll of 120 film in singapore? lets say the usual B&W film- tri-x, Hp-5, Hp-4+, tmax100, agfa apx100 etc. Where do you get your film? I just paid $6.50 for 1 roll of 400tx. Kinda expensive to me. |

Dang. i knew it. Should have been patient and went to Ruby to take a look first.
How about other films? Went to do some shopping online and found that i could get a roll of rollei retro 100 for around $3.80 before shipping. But it comes in box of 20. |

you want to try cheaper B&W in 120, then go for Shanghai GP3 or Lucky SHD 100. It's easier to get it in from China (Taiwan, I think?). From ebay, with shipping should cost you 3.50 SGD/roll. Else, you could try freestylephoto.biz in the US and ship through vpost. Films of choice/value-per-dollar are Neopan Acros 100 and Fomapan/Arista.Edu.II 100/200 all in 120 format. It should cost you 4$SGD/roll with shipping (vpost). It's better always to bulk order and share the shipping cost.
Be warned with Fomapan/Arista.Edu.II, the 120 film curls and the emulsion is very very soft. But it gives fantastic tones when souped in Rodinal. very easy film to scan and print. ![]() |

Thanks all for the response.
The rollei retro 100 film price was for a box of 20. From freestyle photo.biz. Might order in bulk some after i check the shipping cost out first. Alucard, besides shipping from overseas, anyway to get Rodinal? |

locally getting Rodinal is next to impossible. Unless you manage to find someone hoarding on the stuff. hehe.
I have enough to last me through ~200 rolls of 135 film. I ordered it off ebay and it cost 30 SGD/500ml bottle (I got in 5 bottles). It's worth the price it as it has a very very very long shelf life, and lasts longer if used in 1:100 dilutions. It's great for 120 film of any speed and the lower-medium speed 135 film. I use it very carefully with TriX in 135, as I have lost images (excessive grain through over-the-board agitation). |

Speaking of Freestyle, I was looking at their prices and even with a relatively conservative conversion rate, Arista EDU Ultra films (both 135 and 120) are cheaper than anything in Ruby, in particular the ISO 100 film. The catch is it's only this cheap if you order ~100 rolls, with at least 20 of each type.
Would order some myself, but I don't think I have space to store 100 rolls, or even be able to use them up before the expiry date.

Ruby and Cathay Photo.
Portra 400VC = $6.50 (Ruby) Reala = $7+ (CP) I wonder why negatives are more expensive than slides in 120 format. |

Maybe 120 negative film is less popular the 120 slide film?
LENS I have gotten expired ones from forum members. Ruby does not stock colour 120 film? where can i develop 120 slide or negative film? What are the typical rates? |

Ruby does collect in 120 films and then outsource to develop it, should be $5 per roll.
Grace also develop 120 films, but only color negatives. |
