I have read somewhere in the forum saying tt those proccessing films shops only xprocess slide films....
Is tt true...? Because i heard from miao lann that they do xprocess negative films... from positive to negative.... In this case, it will be much cheaper to prurchase normal processing negative films rather than slide films. |

so the end result is the slide film will turn into negative film like, but with weird color reproduction. what you hear from Miao Lann is correct, cross processing from positive to negative. and yes, those labs willing to do cross processing ONLY accept slide film. Nobody doing cross processing for negative film. Last edited by catchlights; 27th February 2008 at 01:16 PM. |

what the lab tech told me is the emulsion of the negative will peel off during the processing, and contaminate the whole lot of E-6 chemicals. that was many many many years ago.
How truth is this? I'm not sure, but you can do a Google search, no one tried that, and no lab offering this service. |

Most shops are quite OK with using slide (E-6) film developed in negative (C-41) chemistry.
I have worked with one lab overseas who did a roll of Fuji Superia (negative, C-41) film in slide E-6 chemistry. No problems and no questions asked when I requested the service. I just wasn't very fond of the color shift so never asked them to do it again, but it's definitely possible. This was a recent experience though. I think the main reason shops here do not do neg film in slide chem is because most of them are not even equipped to do slide chemistry for slides (normal E-6 processing) to begin with! |
