Thanks for the effort in posting the images Dennis. Looks good.
Need to get a spare key to your house and spare key to your dry cabinet so I can pop by and borrow from your lens collection without inconveniencing you too much...

Hi Dennis.

From your photos, will that be considered sharp or not sharp? I didnt know which part did you focus on the subject

Sorry the cropped nearer to the centre is the focus area.
Some are cropped to show CA etc.
If I can fine time I will try to a comparision of the 18-70 and 18-200.

Additional notes.
My D300 settings for picture control is normal standard mode.
No fancy sharperning etc.
I have a strong feeling that it will be sharper than both the 18-70 and the 18-200.
Got to wait till I find time to test all 3 together. (If I can)
Lens have very little CA and controls flare very well.
No lens creep, VR works pretty well considerig that I do have shaky hands.
Contrast is good.

Thanks Dennis for the photos. Btw, can I ask if there is noticeable vignetting? I saw some photos posted by others online where it's quite visible, which is putting me off the lens. And yup, would really appreciate a comparison with the 18-200, which is what I am considering too. If you can find the time of course. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for sharing. These test photos look better than those from other sites.

Other than the sharpness, how's it's performance in controlling distortion, vignette / fallout?

Thanks again.

Yes there are some vignette if you purposely pick on subject to shoot but it is not as bad as it seems.

Sorry no specific test to check on distortion etc.
Maybe later when I can find time.
Have to be more controlled and with different apertures.
Can't do that as I was just passing by Peoples Park yesterday.
