Most i would say, the compact cameras and the prosumers cameras are having a Sensor size1/2.5. Other than the Sony W7 that i check is 1/1.8. Does the Sensor Size matters on the image quality? the bigger the sensor the better the image quality not to metion about the lens. As i'm thinking of chaging to a prosumer or even a novice DSLR.

Not only the noise issue, but also the response to light, smaller pixel size can not reproduce the better color range.

Most of the compact cameras or even point and shoot are using 1/2.5 sensor. I'm currently using a sony W7 with 1/1.8 sensor. What the main different thought. Where most of the compact are using 1/2.5.
