Read in some magazine Tamron is releasing a new lens with VC (the same as Canon's IS) with 18-200 range.
OK I cannot expect this lens to be as good as the 70-200 F/4 IS performance (optical, speed etc). How about if its compared with the 55-250mm IS lens? Anyone tried these two lens can share their experience? |

I've tried the 28-300 VC at last year's Photo Imaging Expo at Suntec. Pretty gd, can handhold at max 300mm (480mm equiv. for my 10D) at 1/10, ISO 400 and still sharp.

Just bought the lens today.
Tested at the shop. VC cannot beat the new IS technology and AF slower. imho...the IQ on par with the 17-50mm version. Decent sharpness(for my standard of shooting...you guys can do better with the lens) even at 1/15 bcos of the VC. For the range(28-300) you couldn't ask for more esp. as a walkaround lens. Will try and walkaround with this lens this weekend. ![]() |
