Quite obvious its dust on the sensor.
For most cases, a blower will solve this. Go to a camera shop and buy one for between $15-$20. There is a setting in your manual to flip the mirror up. Then make a few quick gust of air onto the sensor. This should clean it up. If this method cannot work, then the dust is stuck hard on the ccd and you need to bring it to shriro for cleaning. |

the dust is on the ccd not mirror...you need to go to the camera menu and look for a mirror up funtion activiate it so you will see the ccd...use a blower...most of the time it will work...take a picture again to see if the black spots still exist...else better to bring it to shirio to clean it if you dun have experience cleaning them...but i try not to clean them too often...only the exterior i clean after every outing...ccd once a while...
or you can do what i do...just live with it...can always heal/clone it away...ccd sure got dust...which is a good thing...means u shoot often...if no dust then either you never change lens or you dun shoot often enough ![]() so shoot more and get more dust ![]()

never attempt to clean the mirror. As most has mentioned, 1) go the camera menu, 2) go Setup, 3) Scroll to Sensor cleaning, 4) Mirror lock up. It will locks the mirror in the up position so you can manually clean the sensor. Face the camera downward (to min dust settle back to sensor again) and use a blower to blow. For stubborn dust that even blower cannot get rid and if you don't know how use those swab, just bring it down to service center. The people there are very friendly and nice. ![]() |

Take MRT to Redhill and walk towards Leng Kee where the car show rooms are.. You should reach the temple first, and proceed along that road towards the Citrogen car show room. Turn into Hoy Fatt... and you walk up the short upslope and you should see Shriro House ...

A little off topic, was at Sim Lim Square to see client today.
There is a shop on Level 2 near the lifts (Bally Photo if I recall) that has a boxful of jumbo sized blowers at the shop entrance going for $3.80 each. As usual, the usual caveats with regards to buying from those Sim Lim shops...

I went over to shriro to have my sensor clean for K10D. My first time there and the technician did a good job of removing stubborn dust. Thanks to stevie, the technician for the help and FOC too.Thank you Shriro .

Try Dust Removal with the sensor shake first if you do not have a blower yet? Unlikely to help much but worth the try. Don't try to use your mouth to blow at the sensor. You may introduce moisture unnecessarily....
