Anyone tried any reflex lens before? How is it different from the 'conventional' lenses?
The Sony 500mm F8 is a reflex lens. Quite sharp, but the bokeh tends to be doughnut-shaped.
Here's 3 examples. BTW the Minolta/Sony 500mm Reflex is the only mirror lens with AF. All others are only manual focus.

This one produces the doughnut bokeh on the coconut leaves.
Now i know what is a donut bokeh, yucks (just my opinion)
This is taken by Nikon 500mm Mirror F8
As good or better than some tele-zoom (of course can't compare to the quality ones...)
