Default Servicing an Old Nikon Lens

Hi Guys,

I have an old 85 f1.8 AF "Non-D" version. Its focus ring has become very stiff and makes lots of grinding noise when focusing on my D200 body.

Nikon has refused to service it as they say its out of production

Any ideas who can help service the lens?

Regards,
Faisal.

Hmm...this is quite sad to hear....
I wonder if this applies to their camera bodies as well?

Yeah! Its surprising that they responded in such a way... it just require some servicing, no replace of parts was required what so ever!

*sigh*

Yeah, what would be the point of me keeping all the old lens that I love right?

Strange that they would say that - I had asked them to do general servicing for a 20 year old lens last year and they did it, no problem. You asked them to do general servicing for your lens ?
