The cake came as a package for my V-day dinner. It looks pretty so I took a few shots. Taken in the kitchen moments before I cut it.
I think it looks yummy and frozen. Does it look frozen to you? or moldy? ![]() Please comment on composition, focus, flash usage, etc... (anything you can think of) Fire away! ![]() ![]() |

what a nice cake! would have preferred to see the entire heart made out of the strawberries, and for the icing to look more white (and therefore ice-like/frozen). the drab grey background is not the most flattering for your subject.
a crude attempt to make the cake look more "frozen"... ![]() |

Thanks zaren! Good idea there with the mirror image!
Did you adjust the gamma or tweaked the curve to get that result? One thing I wanted to avoid was to blow out the white colour cream. Where should I meter in this case? I'll see if I have another shot that shows the whole heart shape and work on the pp a little bit more... ![]() |
