I think so, actually. Would match the Sony numbering scheme...

I actually hope Sony won't go with AXXX for the pro cameras. I'd much rather they made it more clear by calling it the "A1" or something. As it is, I feel the A700 should have been A70.
So they could have it like this: Pro: AX Semi-pro: AXX Entry-level: AXXX

Sony lovers... start breaking your piggy banks ! Heard from a reliable source that Sony will be launching the A350 at the coming IT Show 2008. Very reasonable price too. So all potential buyers of A700 and A200 might want to defer their purchases till then... otherwise there might be regrets all round.

I's wonder how much they would be priced at? What I saw from shop selling A200 with standard kit lens at $1059. If A300 price at $1199 and A350 is $1299 (convert from USD$799/899), then would be good price.
I'm a beginner and very interested in getting a new DSLR and waited for more featured products from Sony. Lucky I didnt jump in to get the A100 which i think that time of launch and clearance set is considered very ex now. |

actually I am wondering if there is a body only option for the A300. I think the A350 is actually worse than the A300 right? I don't need 14 meg pixels but I want as much DR as possible.

Hmm, it looks like a test of performances of:
A350 - OVF continuous drive mode A350 - LV continuous drive mode A700 - OVF continuous drive mode (experiment control/reference)

Interesting... but not quite fair? It seems that the A350 is shot using lower ISO, hence the slower shutter compared to the A700... the background colour is different hence the lighting is different which also means AF speed might be different... so not a very good control... secondly cannot compare the OVF & LV AF speeds of the A350 cos of the blackout by LV... thirdly cannot see the image, not sure if AF accurate or not... but overall the LV AF seems impressive taking for granted the AF is accurate... the stopwatch is a flat low contrast reflective object so it's possible for the AF module to report AF locked but the focus to be still off... I don't suppose this video is from SONY? Someone leaked this I guess... but poor methodology... but then again it's just for fun...

Cant say much about Minolta, but Sony's marketing is very impressive! I am very impressed and may get a Sony DSLR to revive my Minolta and M42 lens!
