do i have to call and tell the shop i am buying a camara?

i was view this sub forum, and found that some people do call and then go down th nxt day to purchase it, i am going to buy a new camara and 2 lens, do i hav to call also?

I guess by calling them is to ask for a quote/check for availability/ reserve the item?

I always sms the person to check for prices and availability before going to get it.

It is just to ensure that you wouldn't walk away disappointed when you reached the shop.
