Default A view of Shantou + Xiamen + Gu Lang Yu with my trusty LX2

Street-side Sunset in Xiamen - I love this shot because while i was composing the shot, a loud noise caused a flight of small birds to take flight...

Street Side Sunset in Xiamen

I'm not too sure if this came across by i saw the chance for a quick snap, capturing the divide of the kinds of vehicles as well as the obvious socio-economic gulf between the people in China...

This fabulous looking fluffball is a resident of NaYa hotel, a boutique hotel on Gu Lang Yu itself...

This is the skyline of Shantou... It was very disconcerting yet vaguely familiar. This sense of disconnect could be felt as acutely as one would feel when reading a Haruki Murakami novel....

You can almost imagine martial pugilists dueling over these roofs from movies of a bygone era...

A streetside wet market in one of the side streets of Xiamen.... The cacophony of noise was something to behold, with voices of people bargaining, fowls clucking irritably in cages and even toots of bicycle horns... The was most definitely a feel of festivities in the air...

A group of ladies making "Ang Ku Kway" by the street... The was something entreating about the way she looked at the camera which i was trying to brandish as discreetly as possible...

A snap of the Xiamen skyline.... observe the contrast between this & the one from Shantou and the obvious divide and gap of affluence...

A night shot of "Zhong Shan Lu". Its the equivalent of what we have in Orchard and they do have pretty up market boutiques and street side food vendors which gave the entire place a bustling feel.

this catches my eye. i like the glare of the sun.

but wonder if the black portion on the left has retrievable details or is details seen on your monitor due to difference in calibration? the same issue for the centre of "A group of ladies making "Ang Ku Kway" by the street".

and very interesting shot. thinks the "tilt" works great in this upward looking shot. can i ask for permission to post it in the newbie thread to illustrate the use of tilts in dynamic angles?
