    You can do that in the D70s also. In fact, all DSLRs.

    I am not very sure of the in-camera processing in the D300. However, it still recommend you to do the post processing yourself because it gives you more control over the pictures.

    Load the sRealav2 curve into the D70. It's inherent of the D70 to be a little on the conservative side in terms of metering and contrast.

    D300 has easier to use controls for you to up saturation contrast etc.. but I would recommend downloading D2XModeI picture control.
