Both! Medium format camera takes medium format film! Standard 35mm camera has a film/sensor area of 36mmx24mm. Medium format can range from 6cmx4.5cm, 6x6 or even 6x12 panos. Essentially it's a bigger film/sensor and has more potential to capture details. If you are interested, there's still large format

That's standard 35mm since it uses 35mm film canisters. You can print to any size you want with any film, just that 35mm film usually can't hold as much details as medium format film, but of course you have to take into account the camera/lens you are using. Medium format is a roll film by the way, looks like a miniature toilet roll

TMax is a Kodak B&W negative film, the ISO rating is 400.
yes you can, but if your image is not sharp, the print is also not sharp, and it will be very obvious. |

The larger the area of capture is, the more detail will be taken down by the film. Same difference from a Digital PnS sensor a crop DSLR sensor and the sensor on the $30,000 phase 1 module.

More info from the "venerable" Ken Rockwell ... Read through the whole article, it's interesting, just take his notes on brands, and especially 35mm, with a grain of salt ...
