hi! i need some help!
is this lens good? as above. and is advisble to get EF 28mm f/1.8 USM instead of EF 24mm f/2.8. wat are the difference? thanks in advance! |

Isn't it obvious? The focal length is different, so are the aperture opening...

f/1.8 lets in twice as much light as f/2.8, which means you can capture shots with twice as fast a shutter speed for the same exposure. This will really help.

That said, neither lens is sharp wide open. For the 28mm, some copies are notoriously soft, and only become decent at f/3.5. If you're lucky, you can get a copy that's sharp at f/2.5 or f/2.8. I don't know much about the 24 f/2.8, although I know the 24L is a heck of a lens. To Threadstarted (TS): as to whether it is advisable to purchase either of these lenses, how would we know? We don't even know what kind of photography you do. |
