Seeking Advice

Hi Folks,
I would be most grateful if you could critique my shots below. I'll say what I'm trying to do, and you folks tell me how it goes..... and how it can be improved.....

With this cactus, I was trying to get just close-ups and part of the subject, not the whole flower. Slightly different perspective, I guess. Does it work?
