Default Back-focusing Problem

Hi,

Previously I discovered that my A100 has back-focusing problem. I'm not sure how serious it was, until I tried to do macro which is very narrow dof.

After searching on the net, I realized I'm not the only one having this problem.
Some suggest that' could be lens problem, http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=20358979
where others mentioned that's strictly body problem http://www.mhohner.de/minolta/faq.php#backfocus

Well, the suggestion is usually send to service center, and someone actually mentioned that the problem solved after calibration. I also thought that's the only way, until yesterday, where I called Sony service technical support, and he mentioned he never heard about that problem. Then he asked whether I've changed any setting, and again he suggested to send for servicing.

Pondering his word, I decided to give more try last night. While changing any setting on menu, or turning SSS off doesn't correct the situation, suddenly the problem seems disappeared after I did a reset - Restore factory default. I tried using all my lenses, close-up filter, and confirm the problem has been corrected. I really feel surprise and happy although it's hard to believe.

Now, any one of you have experience this? And can anyone help to explain what is going on? Will the problem occur again? I've read some posting mentioning regular reset for A700, but it's more for performance or memory issue, but seems nobody ever talk about this on A100 and focusing issue?

I do have back focusing issue when I use the A100 together with the tamron 17-50mm. I'm not sure whether it is the lens issue or the body. Anyway, I will try reseting the A100 and see if the problem goes away.
