Found the bees hovering around the protruding ‘finger’ of the cone shaped, thick petaled white flower.

Well, you got the focus on the eyes! Thats good!
Try different angles on the slave, and also diffusers for your on-board flash.

PS, I was corrected recently as well, these are flies, not bees or wasps...
notice the sucking mouth. ![]() Bees have more sharper mouthpieces. |

Anyway, not really impt about adjusting the focus, just use it at whatever focal point, and move the camera in/out to get the focus.
