anybody got EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM on 400D?can i use it to take portraits?any samples?

In short, yes, but your subject needs to have flawless skin and flawless make-up. This lens is exceedingly (and unforgivingly) sharp.
Guess you could always apply different diffusion/blur techniques in post work though. I tried, but found that certain lenses which are less corrected tend to be better for portrait work. Some people I know, including myself, tend to prefer lenses with more spherical abberation (less correction) as they lend a certain and more natural looking 'glow' to portraits. |
