Discontinued... has entered the realm of legend (according to some on this forum)... do a search on the forum or more info. Also take a look at the review at www.dpreview.com.... comprehensive review with all the buttons, dials and switches explained ad naseum...

Thanks! Saw someone using it and the images are fantastic! Which is the replacement model for this? It's sort of an DSLR minus the changing of lenses.

Since the R1, I've owned the A100 and now, A700. I've kept the R1 for sentimental reasons, and still take it out of the cabinet occasionally. While it has some shortcomings (lack of speed, AF problems in low light, EVF etc), under good conditions it can produce images superior to the those from A100 and A700 with the lenses I have (11-18, 18-250, 50macro)... It had a beautiful (non-changeable) Zeiss lens. The live-view with tilt screen, live histogram, etc, is also something I miss... I saw some still on the shelves at Alan Photo (Sim Lim) a long time after it had been discontinued, but they're probably all gone by now...

There is no replacement model out except the DSLRs.

No replacement although there are many who wish there would be one...

Yeah... It's a DSLR quality pictures without the interchangeable lens options. Thanks guys!
