hi,
i heard about this alpha 200 has already been launched recently. how did find it compared with a100. i heard its better in term of accessories like extended battery pack, auto flash pop-up, bigger ISO, etc. is it true? how about the shutter sound compared with a100 - any improvement? |

hi, i did not get the hand grip
1. The ISO at 1600 is usable 2. Camera Focus is more responsive 3. Shutter sounds better 4. The battery life has a smarter indicator, where you can see how many % left ![]() 5. Yes it feels nicer to use, an upgrade from the A100 |

Which lens did you use? The first shot is quite soft... but detail on 2nd is good... the higher res does have its uses...

Errr... no not the lens... what was your aperture? I think quite shallow... cos it seems as if there is camera shake combined with a bit of OOF... or u focussed on the middle part of the flowers rather than the front... also red channel tends to blow on digital cameras... so also reduce accutance (or perception of sharpness)...

. Wanted to shoot at higher aperture, should have pushsed the ISO higher so as to allow for Larger F. |

I've heard from somewhere though - that it's the same battery as the A100, only with a groove cut into the battery casing... But who would risk the battery leakage that comes with cutting a battery casing open?

If u open up the battery casing, u will find 2 cells inside... the outer casing just makes the battery proprietary... that's why 3rd party brands can so easily replicate them... the only part that cannot be easily replicated is the information bit - the % power readout...

I am not sure if the infolithium bit is obstructing the way for 3rd party batteries to appear...the circuitry might be designed to fail a 3rd party battery if it cannot report its power status...

I bought A-700 and 2 extra batteries which allow me to shoot 1500 shots in with all 3 or around 1200 if heavy flashes was used. I guess it is expensive if you just look at the value of the battery itself. I have used 3rd party batteries on 7D before, they don't even last 1/2 of the lifespan of the original as well as they are generally not really worth the while after probably 6 months of use. What I found is with minolta NP-400, when fully charge, it will read around 1500-1600mAH, but with the 3rd party, I am lucky to get 1200mAH even it is clearly rated at 1750mAH. U are getting what you pay for really. Regards, Hart |
