    The original background was created and edited at 1200 X 900 pixels.

    I used a feathering of 2 pixels.

    On the origianl picture, the background is plain, so I pointed the magic wand there to select the background, then inverse the selection, then apply the 2-pixel feathering.

    The hair portion is obviously badly selected, so I have to erase the hair line, make a separate marquee selection of the hair portion from the original, overlay that on top and then remove the background manually as described above.

    It's 8:00PM here in Seattle, I am still in office, and I am about to pack up to go home.
