    Default Anyone good with physics/electrostatics?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows something about electrostatics that may help me solve my problem without more troublesome/invasive measures.

i'm the owner of a sony k850i phone. Recently, alot of dust has been accumulating inside my camera lens glass panel. For those familiar with the phone, its the extra glass cover on top. Tried to blow the dust out from all phone openings, tried to vacuum, to no avail. Dust don't even move.

What I suspect, is that my repeated usage of my shirt to clean the glass, I may have induced an electrostatic charge on the glass which is now polarising and attracting dust particles to the glass. Same as when you use silk to rub a glass rod you can attract a balloon etc. Its been a long time since i've done physics and from what i've looked up its something to this effect, please correct me if i'm wrong.

What i'd like to know is if anyone knows of a simple way that I can induce an opposite charge on the glass to repel the dust off? In theory of course, deep inside I don't expect this to work and i bet i gotta go down to SE centre and kao pei...

Of course without large electrostatic generators that could possibly fry my whole phone...

    Thanks!

    How about wetting the glass?
