Default Beginner Macro Shots with magnifying glass

    Hi all,

I am a beginner in digital photography (or photography, for the matter). I got an Ixus 330 but from what I've read, it is incapable of accepting lens attachments. Thus, close-up shots are impossible.

I've used a magnifying glass to take these pics. I'm thinking of paying $100 for the Ixus lens adapter from ckcpower.com (or somethg) to use a close-up filter. Wld the effect with the filter be better than this?

Many thanks for your comments and time.

A little off-topic, but Far East Flora at thomson used to sell small flytraps at $7 each. They also had sundews and pitchers.

just for the newbies, macro can be easily achieved with a slr and a 50mm.

    Instructions:

Unmount the 50 mm, flip it upside down and hold it to the mount as light tight as possible. using your hands and body to move in and out towards your subject you will achieve a human bellow system.

its a very good method towards cheap macros.

    enjoy
