Default Casing for a monorail camera

Hi, I wish to ask monorail LF users a few questions. How to you bring you camera out to shoot? I have seen those metal casings, are they available in Singapore? Or anyone selling his/her casing.

Are there other alternatives that you employ in bringing the camera out?

The monorail camera is already heavy and if you put into a casing it will be more heavier. I put a camera strap on both ends of the monorail and middle is the bellow and camera, sometimes I put it into a long wide canvas bag and carry it around.

Hi James, your idea seems to be a good idea! Can you post a picture of how you hang your camera with the camera strap? I am wondering how do you secure the straps to the rail?

believe it or not I used to pack everything into a camera backpack. I dismantled it to a few parts then put it into the bag. Then when I want to shoot I'll just put it back together. Takes about 5mins to do so.

Lugging it around in the metal case is insane. But it makes for a good stool!

There are four images below: Please ignore the Epson box, just showing the length of strap.

Hope this helps.

Hi James, thanks for the pictures! Is the bag a camera bag? It seems to fit so well. Where did you get the bag? Ok, I know what to do with my camera already. Your pictures does make a mono rail looks portable!

Hi enivre, thanks for the advice, the problem is I have yet to get a decent camera backpack. Until I save up enough, I will consider getting one.

I carried the whole thing on my left shoulder and my heavy duty tripod on my right shoulder, of course not for long distances

The bag is not a camera bag, I think its a tennis bag? and its made of canvass. If you are in Singapore, go to Mustaffa and there are lots of cheap bags of various sizes to choose from.
