    Default Tripod on flight

Are there any issues of bringing a tripod as a hand carry luggage when you fly? will any customs stopped you from doing that?

depends on airlines. so long as you don't obiang it, no problem experienced from my end so far, even for budget airlines.

there is however, problem for certain airports, europe comes to mind, because only allow one piece of luggage, so you must stuff your tripod into your bag. not everyone can do that though.

If you're carrying a hiking bag, you can just strap it to the side..

To be on the safe side, put your tripod in you check-in luggage, preferably a hard case one. It will surely go through customs.

If you choose to carry the tripod onto the plane, be prepared to surrender it for check-in to the airline if they object to it. This will probably happen if you plan to fly to Europe or US. Just checking in the tripod like that will risk damage to it because you will never know how the baggage handlers treat the tripod.

What's the advantage of carrying the tripods on board?

Want to do a time exposure of rows of airplane seats at F22?

I like to stuff my tripod into my handcarry trolley bag... reason being I don't like to check-in any bag if I can help it... can leave the airport faster and no risk of lost/damaged bag... I try to travel light, but of course, if checking-in bag is unavoidable then too bad...

Best right, is you email the airline, the airport, and the local aviation office. If they say yes, print it out, and if you have trouble, jst show.
