just bought the a200 and nothing to shoot so took a shot of my country clock.
Exposure: 0.077 sec (1/13) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 230 mm (sony 75-300 lens) ISO Speed: 1600 Shot in fine jpeg with no pp at all, I am happy with the SSS and the quality. Must add that the clock is the wrinkled and faded type - suppose to be a country clock and may not be the best pic to judge the quality ![]() 100% crop ![]() Last edited by henrykoh; 2nd February 2008 at 12:30 AM. |

The ISO1600 looks usable from this crop.

went shooting butts this morning and my evaluation of the camera so far:
Pro: fast, even using the slow 75-300 is was definitely faster than the nikon 70-300vr lens, exposure seems to be right on and not like my previous nikon that has tendecy to blow highlight What i don't like: no direct access to flash compenstion, need to dig into the menu and the menu has no memory of last usage and also the 1/160 syn speed is bit too low for my liking. |

The shutter sound though sounded like a mix of the a100's clackings and a700's snippings. ![]()

On the A100 there is a MENU setting that enables you to go back to the last changed settings. Should be the same on the A200.

for a beginner, the a200 is no brainer. for more advanced people a700 would satisfy their needs....lol

Noise very well controlled in the shadows (see the black lettering)... noise free on the bright areas.... simply means that ISO1600 under decent lighting (indoors) is perfectly usable... say goodbye to flash and hotspots...
