Just curious. Since sony will be launching a fullframe body will they be releasing fullframe lens since most of their lens are apsc lens. They do not have enough full frame lens to support their new body. Pls elaborate.

Sony Full-Frame Lenses

1. 16mm F2.8 FishEye
2. 20mm F2.8
3. 24-105mm F3.5-4.5
4. 28mm F2.8
5. 35mm F1.4 G
6. 50mm F1.4
7. 50mm F2.8 Macro
8. 70-200mm F2.8 G SSM
9. 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G
10. 75-300mm F4.5-5.6
11. 100mm F2.8 Macro
12. 135mm F2.8 [T4.5] STF
13. 300mm F2.8 G SSM
14. Reflex 500mm F8
15. 24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM
16. Planar T* 85mm F1.4
17. Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8

Only 6 lenses designed for APS-C not mention above. Sony will introduce, I think 8 more lenses in the near future.

New introduction of lenses from Sigma and Tamron at the recent PMA 08 adds up to the ranges.

1. Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM.
2. Sigma APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM.
3. Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG MACRO
4. Sigma APO 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC HSM
5. Sigma 18-125mm F3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM
6. Tamron 70-200mm F2.8
7. Tamron 10-24mm F3.5-F4.5

If you add up full frame lenses by Minolta, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina the range is large enough. Whether our pockets are deep enough, that's the issue.

Within sony itself, you can already see that there are more FF lenses than there are DT lenses. The number of FF lenses will definitely increase... it's evident when sony released the 24-70 CZ SSM, and 75-300G SSM, both being FF lenses.

Default Re: full-frame with anti-shake tech

You're welcome bro...

Actually, if you add in KM AF lenses, the A mount has quite a variety of lenses, including some interesting ones like the STF lens that really packs the bokeh to kill...

I'm keeping my lenses full frame ready, so I can have lenses that can be used on both my a700 and a future FF body - if sony comes out with an affordable one. You can see, much of the existing FF lenses come from the KM film era, so there's a lot of legacy FF A mounts for us to use when the FF comes out.

If you have noticed, it's these three types of lenses that are getting the DT designation:
Wide Zoom (11-18)
Wide to Mid Tele Zoom (kit/cz1680)
Wide to telephoto superzoom (18-200/18-250)

Going ASP-C with the DT range is to enable the users to go wide on the current bodies because ASP-C sensors will have problems trying to go wide with the existing FF lenses - they need about 18mm just to match the equavalent of 28mm in FF (18mm translates into 27mm in FF).

There's no Telephoto zooms with the DT designation because FF telephoto lens designs can be used just as effectively on a FF body as it is on a ASP-C sized sensor - with the cropped sensor actually offering an additional boost in the telephoto range, like a 300mm on a ASP-C sensor becomes 450mm on a FF sensor...

Anyways, the newly released CZ 24-70 SSM and 70-300G SSM are the newly released full frame lenses. Seems to set a trend that SSM is going to be a standard feature on the premium class of lenses, like the G and the CZ, like what canon does with its L glasses.

What I feel, with the release of the FF body at the end of this year, you'd see of sony lenses that would look pretty much what the other brands are offering out there - in order to compete with the other brands so die-die they'd have to release those eventually...

Near Future:
Wide Zoom for FF body, like Sigma's 12-24mm
Very large aperture primes, like a 50mm F1.2 or even something that's like Canon's 50mm f1.0 (probably have to wait long-long for that*)
Large aperture Wide prime lens, like Canon's 24mm f1.4 L USM. (probably have to wait long-long*)

The "long overdue" G SSM telephoto primes ***:
300mm F4G SSM (I can almost be sure that they'd just pop out one day - the minolta equivalents are already there)
400mm F4.5G SSM
600mm F4 G SSM

Wait long long: Super-duper-telephotos like Minolta 1600mm f11 Reflex (not sure if Sony wants to revive that one)

* when I say: probably have to wait long-long, it's because these are lenses that are actually unique to canon only... if I checked correctly, nikon doesn't have a 50mm f1.0, or a 24mm f1.4 as well
*** All these, and possibly even longer primes will come out in the near future if sony wants to compete with what other brands has to offer. The capability is already there - we have the Minolta APO G HS primes. I believe, if minolta had enough time and was doing well, I'm sure those would come out.

Anyway, that's just what I think might happen. Based on what I see from other brands - whose the inventories are just out there - they are telling what Sony it has to make do in order to compete... Let us just cross our fingers yeah?

There are 3 unknown lenses at PMA...

super telephoto (80-400mm full frame)
ultra wide zoom (16-35mm CZ full frame)
wide prime (unknown)

Rumors are in brackets as to the focal range...

Just curious, heard some photographers says that though canon had a wide range of FF Cameras they do not have enough FF lens to cater to their FF Cameras as compared to nikon. Is it true?

The wide prime looks quite interesting, hope it's a large aperture as well...

I'm not sure if that claim actually holds any ground, because both manufacturers have so many other FF Zooms and Primes that the thread, and my head as well will explode trying to list it... and I doubt that the photographer who has raised that issue could possibly make use of all those lenses - unless he's talking about some lenses that his mount doesn't have:

There's something about the manufacturers that are unique for themselves:
Canon has 50mm f1.0, and the 24mm f1.4
Nikon has effectively, the longest telephoto lens on the planet.
