17-40mm is a sharp lens, sometimes sharper than 16-35 MK1. However, the distortion is a little bit on the high side, hence if you are shooting architecture shots for a living, then you cannot accept this... if you only shoot sunrise or sunset, then it is not much a problem.
16-35mm MK2 is very sharp and distortion is also much improved from MK1. But, the price is sky high...
I ended getting neither.. I brought the Sigma 12-24mm instead.
If you intend to use 17-40mm on wedding , POSSIBLE... but it is a little dark ( need to push up the ISO and must have steady hands) , comparing to using 16-35mm. Considering when you are in a church or wedding dinner especially. F2.8 definately helps alot. 17-40mm is more suitable for outdoor landscapes where aperture is closed all the way down to get sharpness.
I go slp liao, who tomolo going shoot winnie, call me to meet up ok! Nite all!
PW combined with suitable cable can now trigger my flashguns.
Er, I thinking of getting Germany and USA...intended to use for few years....like my reflector. Most probably getting from Ruby, as I forsee I will get bowens from them as well.
Have fun shooting Winnie! I want to shoot also...
