Default Digi Cabi RH shot up to 63%!! Help!!!

My Digi Cabi RH reading has always been around 50-55% and i will usually glance at it almost daily. However i have not been checking the reading for the past few weeks and when i check the temperature just now, the RH value is 63%!!!!!

I've already checked for fungus in the lens and thank god, there isnt any. I dread to think how long the reading of above 60% it has been staying. I would like to ask if anyone knows why would the reading shoot up if no one has been tampering with my Digi Cabi. (No air con in that particular room) I have been fiddling with the knob for more than 30 mins and the reading still stays above 60%. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

    Might be a bad news.
Ur dehumidifier unit might be inoperative.
    Analog or digital?

    It happens sometimes.

The contact point for the battery is not of high quality. Remove and re-insert the battery.

For anologue cabi, this is how you troubleshoot:-

Hygrometer ==> Do a salt test. (Don't ask me what this is. Do a search in GOOGLE.)

    Dehumidifier ==>
    1) Leave unit at room humidity. (Turn off power source and open the door OR remove it fr cabi AND let it settle for 30mins or so.)

    2) You should see upper vent stays up, lower vent stays down.
IF YOU CAN'T OBSERVE THIS, BAD NEWS... (spring stucked)

    3) Turn knob to H. Connect power source.

    4) Turn knob CW until you hear a "CLICK" sound. Red light should turn ON. The vents start to move in the opposite direction. (ie, upper vent moves down, lower vent moves up)
*NOTE: The light may not be an indication of inoperative unit, most importantly vents MUST move.
IF YOU CAN'T OBSERVE THIS, BAD NEWS... (circuit fault)

    5) Wait for 10mins, unit should start to heat up. (Drying process of desiccant in unit starts)
IF YOU CAN'T FEEL THIS, BAD NEWS... (heater fault)

Up to here, desiccant drying process is working completely fine! Continue...

    6) Turn knob CCW until you hear a "CLICK" sound. Light should turn OFF. The vents start to move in the opposite direction. (ie, upper vent moves up, lower vent moves down)
*NOTE: The light may not be an indication of inoperative unit, most importantly vents MUST move.

This is when the cabinet drying process starts! The desiccant in the dehumidifier unit now starts to absorb moisture. The whole drying process will continue until the desired humidity, set by the knob, is reached. Unless set humidity is reached, the RED light WILL remain ON. Dehumidifier will auto-cutoff thereafter, RED light goes OFF. Process continues...

    Hope this helps!
