How to keep settings of c730?

I notice that whenever I take my battery out for charging. All my settings are reset although I have set reset to off. All the date settings, shutter sound, etc, are all gone. Is there a way to keep the settings as it is? It is quite annoying as I ended up taking a silent movie, accidentally erasing files due to the duplicate numbering with old ones. Well you get the idea...

This shouldn't happen...the rechargeable backup batt for keeping the settings should work for a few weeks before needing to rechardge again. Maybe you wanna chk with Olympus Singapore???

my one also like that...i.e. once the batt are out, then all my default setting will be gone too....like the date and resolution etc...
