Anyone know if this lens is available in Singapore yet and what's the price? MSRP in US is US$820.

Yes, it's available. Get it at 'John 3:16' for around $780SG. Prices will vary a bit from shop to shop, but this is a decent 'ball park' figure. I just picked one up and it seems like a handy lens to have as a general walk-around lens, particularly if you are shooting with Canon, as Canon does not seem to have a lens to rival the Nikon 18-200 VR in terms of versatility.

Anyone know if Canon has any plans to produce a wide-angle to telephoto with IS?

Yes.. Bought the lens at Orient Photo... price about the same... 780-790. Nice lens... a little heavy... so the OS really comes in handy.

Hi.

I have a Canon 40D and Sigma 18-200 DC OS SLD Lens. I find the lens "ok" but at F8.0 the IQ quite satisfying. Do you have any comments about this lens? I've also read that the new Tamron 28-300mm VC lens has "remarkable IQ" based on the review from popphoto.com.
