Post Qns on Discontinuation

Hi jus wanna check if Fuji has discontinued making dslrs? Recently called one prominent shop in sg asking for qoute on S5 Pro, the staff said its discontinued, and probably no more new models coming.

Sold my C stuff now trying to switch to Fuji, do pardon my lack of knowledge in the way things work in FujiWorld

Many thanks in advance for your replies

until there is an official statement from Fujifilm that they will exit DSLR market, take such information as a rumour.

It is true most camera shops in SG has ran out of stock for S5pro, but I do believe in other parts of the world like US etc Amazon, bhphoto they still do keep some stock.
Anyway, it is quite unlikely that they will quit DSLR market, from what I gather the sale of S5pro is much better than S3pro. Even with relative low sales of the S3pro it did not stop Fuji from churning S5 then. They are just not as aggressive like other major brands in churning out new models because most people who use Fuji DSLRs know what they want(DR etc) and still Fuji sensor remains untouched in this aspect.

Yes, I agree with this. There is AFAIK, a much greater sales volume of the S5 Pro as compared to its predecessors. However, Fujifilm DSLRs still belong to a niche market for niche photographers. Call up other reputable shops and see if they have stock?
