Default How to increase E510 auto exposure braketing to +/-2EV?

Does anyone know how to accomplish the above?

Thanks!

mm i don't think that's possible.

one of the design flaws, software-wise.

I would love a larger range of exposure bracketing on the E-3 as well. I believe this can be implemented via firmware upgrade. But it all depends on Olympus.

Yea - I don't see why this can't be implemented via a firmware update.

And while we're talking about that, why oh why can't they release an update that will make all the E-series DSLRs compatable with the newer FL50R and FL36R~!?!?

The remote flashes are tirggered by the on-camera flash aren't they?

Or is there some rocket science behind it that I'm not aware of?

Of course, that would kill the sales of the FL50 and FL36 but come on Olympus - you know you should

Heck - recall all the FL50s and FL36s for a retrofit why don't ya

Isn't the FL50 and FL36 being phased out anyway?

In fact, many things can be implemented via firmware updates. But Olympus is not doing that. Maybe they are consolidating all issues into 1 firmware upgrade before releasing for public to update?

Why not start a thread where we can input our desired features to be implemented through a firmware upgrade and then send it to Olympus?

Yes, I would certainly like to see a firmware upgrade that allows an auto exposure braketing of +/-2EV and yes the use of new "R" flashes for "pioneer" bodies like the E1, E300 etc...

Another one: the implementation of SAT (shadow adjustment technology) exclusive only to the E3 for the E510.

If we can generate enough response, we will ask Olympus Singapore to take it up.

That's umpossible (sic)...the older cameras don't have the hardware (IR emitter) to control the flashes. There was a firmware upgrade for one of the SP model line, but that camera already had the hardware and just needed the instructions on how to operate it (the camera was released with the required hardware before the FL-xxR flashes were finalized).

No, what you're thinking of is just your bog ordinary optical slave flash that has no TTL function whatsoever.

I don't know if it's rocket science (to you), but it's just like the remote control for your TV...you push a button on your remote, it sends out a series of near-infrared (nIR) light pulses and your TV reacts to those light pulses.
