Hi Guys,
Tempted to buy the new E-3 but I wanted to test the AF speed before committing. I went to Funan HV but they use 50mm Macro on their test E-3. Any idea whether Olympus Showroom have test set? Thanks |

Yap, The E3 is on display for all to try. I went there on Friday. The Olympus showroom is just a stone throw away from Funan IT mall.

The E-3 in the Olympus show room is mated to the 12-60mm len... pop your own CF card in... bring your own lens clothe to wipe clean the lens front element... a lot of finger print & oily dirty one...

You can go and try Harvey Norman at FN. They have the E-3, and many lenses to poison you.

have anyone compared the AF speed between E-500 and E-3 using non-ultrasonic lenses, eg. 50mm F/2.0 macro lens?

If you come to the gathering on 25th January, I am sure there are quite a number of E-3s and 12-60s lying around for you to test. I find that the focusing on the 12-60+E3 very fast, almost on par with the Canon 1DsMkIII.

Bring what you want to bring. If you are coming from the office and don't have the habit of hauling your stuff around, then just come! It is ok.

I wish I was closer. I went to the store where I bought my E-1. I asked if they had an E-3 and they told me that they didn't and that the Olympus representative had been bad toward them. I started to say that it was probably in self defence but closed my mouth about that and the other brands the salesperson tried to offer me. Ugggh.

Even between the E510 and E3 for non-US lens, it is significantly faster to me. I dun have to time it to know. It also focuses surer with less hunting. The 510 really likes to hunt a lot.
