Default Wide angle attachment lens for DSLR

Has anyone tried using wide angle lens attachment on their DSLR?

    eg...
    28mm(lens) X 0.42(attachment lens factor) X 1.6(DSLR multiplier factor) = 19mm focal length.

Will the image be clear? Thinking of getting the above combo...

    Thanks.

if you can get a really good one, the image degradation may not be that much. but a good 0.8x one (meant for Olympus ZLRs) cost >$200. a really good 0.42x one that does not result in any vegnetting could cost a lot more (if anyone make one at all) and will be very very big and heavy.

hmm... if you're adventurous, you might want to try the Sony 0.7x one which is 58mm threaded:

probably costs around $300-400. as stated, it weighs 690g.
