![]() can anyone identify the lense in the photo? its a long story, but was asked if i wanted this lense to be given as the original owner no longer has any use for it. its based over seas so i gotta know what lense it is before i get it shipped. the lense is with someone who is so clueless about nikon equipment (canon zealot who is enjoying toying with my anticipation and emotions!) that I'm resorting to this. looked thru nikons web site but still cant see to identify what lense that is. Seems unlikely bro, notice the focus ring texture of the AF 24-85 f/2.8-4D is slotted and that of the 24-120 is gridded. The focus ring on the lens shown by the TS seems to be gridded. I might be wrong though.

don't understand why the original owner doesn't just send you a photo of the lens showing the lens markings. even if they are a canon zealot, you would think they could at least read the numbers/markings printed on the lens....

Maybe the shipping cost is too high? Why don't the TS ask for another picture instead?

well actually, i dont want to get it shipped here because Im using a d40 and I dont think i'll use it if its an AFS lense.
besides, like what huggable guessed, shipping is pretty costly and I rather it be given to someone else then to get broken in the mail. My friend is not telling on purpose. she is an evil bitch sometimes. To conclude, will get getting a definitive answer on what it is on monday. thanks for all the helpful guess. by the way, anyone know what price can it fetch from B&S? i dont reckon much right. |

what if after shipping it, the lens condition is so bad that you wont be able to sell it away? in the end, u waste ur money. For me, I'll tell her 'no thanks' heh |

Just curious, you mentioned that the owner "no longer has any use for it". Is it a working copy?

yea, its a perfectly working lense.
it came with the d100. a boy gave it to my friend (girl) since he didnt need it anymore (professional photog) thinking he could get into her pants with a d100. she bought a canon 400d 2 months later. ![]() |
