Hi
I have tried taking some pictures indoor (night time) with 17-35mm f/2.8 on D80 with the built-in flash. The results taken is that there is a shadow on the pictures due to the size of the lens (I suppose, please correct me if I am wrong). How do I overcome this shadow issue? I suppose I need to buy a flashlight (SB-600 or SB-800). Currently I do not have a flashlight. Of course if I take during the day, the shadow issue will not appear. Can someone confirm my doubts? Thanks in advance. Regards htx |

Yes. It happens. Your lens is sticking out. If youhad your lens hood on, it'll be even more pronounced. You'll need an external flash unit or crank up your ISO. |

Your lens is too big and is in the way of the built-in flash coverage.

As stated in the D80 manual, there's a min range to adhere to depending on the lens in use as well as the focal length of the particular lens in use.
