Default Can MB-D80 use one Battery?

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering whether if it's fine to load just one battery into the MB-D80?

I loaded one and it seems to work fine.
However I am concern whether this way will have an adverse effect of the life span of the battery ... or any ill effects on the D80 itself?

No problems with using only one battery. The grip actually uses one battery at a time, expending one before switching to the other.. So you could actually shoot halfway and swap one battery for a fresh one. Check your camera menu to see the battery status and which one is in use.
