I am considering getting into shooting insects, flowers etc and need to get a macro lens.
As I do not want to move too close to the subject, I am considering a 180mm f3.5. Can anyone who has used one of these offer any advice? |

Tamron 180mm is proven a sharp and value for money lens.
But currently i think it is out of stock local for months. For Sigma, many of them are using 150mm and give very good results and the price is pretty good too. (below $1k). Most people using 4/3 using Sigma 150mm, as it is the only 3rd tele-macro lens for them, but with 2x crop sensor, it is the same with nikon 200mm on 1.5x crop sensor. For Sigma 180mm, haven't seem anyone i know using it (don't know why). Hope the help |
