haha... but really right? just get a point and shoot really no lens combination problem what...

Really depends on what you want to shoot, maybe get a all rounder first (if you are loaded, 18-200mm VR, if you are poor (like me) then get a 18-135mm), find your niche and then go on from there?

It's not a golden advice.. It's just a common guideline.. There is nothing that says you can't shoot a portrait with a 500mm lens or a Fisheye lens.

Ever heard of the phrase "using the right tool for the right job"?

Each lens is like a different tool, with a different purpose. Obviously, trying to shoot birds in flight with a 14-24 f/2.8 doesn't make sense. Your bird will take up ~3% of the frame.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but there really is no one best lens combination for everything, so don't be naïve in thinking there's a best lens combination for shooting everything. Yeah, sure there is - get every lens in the catalogue.

You want the right replies, then ask the correct question.

With such a vague question, what do you expect? Duh.

Never even put in a budget and what you intend to use it for, how would you expect people to answer you?

Bro difficult to suggest unless you tell us more about the nature of photographs you wanna take and your budget. There is no best camera nor best lens, everything is a compromise.
