Hi all clubsnap forum-ers!
I recently purchased a 2nd hand D70s body... can't wait to go out and shoot haha... But before i do that, i need some recommendations on which lens would be suitable for the pictures that i'm taking... I usually like to take candid pictures of people and street scenes... So...any lenses to recommend for starters? I'm thinking of 18-70mm... Thanks in advance for all the replies! ![]() |

The 18-70 is a good choice for your camera.

18-200 VR!!!
can last u a long time.. good walkaround widest at 18, furthest at 200. further reach compared to 18-70 and aperture range should be the same i think. only cons are the weight and price. moreover you got VR.. many 2nd hand ones floating around in B&S. thats my opinion.. ![]()

Good as a second piece. But a starter should be a all-rounder.

50 1.8 is a very good and cheap lens too but for starters 18-70 is more suitable.

The 18-70 is a f/3.5-4.5 lens The 18-200 is a f/3.5-5.6 lens. |

Get the 18-200mm VR once and for all !!! If money is no objection.
Else stick to 18-70mm or 18-135mm, they are both competent enough for your type of shots. |

18-70mm is a good lens, has the wide...
but for street shooting, 70mm might be a bit short... just to let you know... but all in, this is a good lens for its price... ![]() |

Consider the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 lens, not bad, won awards, not too expensive too.

actually i 4got to mention that im a student haha... so have a tight budget...
so im considering between the 18-70mm and 18-135mm haha... So which one would you guys recommend? I've heard that the 18-70mm produces sharper images, but the 18-135mm has a longer range... |

But I'm not exactly bowled over by the performance on that one though.
